Don't have any issue with installing a resistor in the non-airbag wheel to keep the airbag light off - main question is whether the cruise control buttons and horn contacts on the earlier wheel will work properly (I can swap wires around in the wheel plug, or move the non-airbag wheel wires to an airbag wheel connector if needed).
Original air bag wheel is in good cosmetic condition, but the internal foam pad is no longer bonded to the upper section of the wheel's rim hoop, so the outer surface of the wheel and internal pad twist easily on the rim. It's loose enough that sooner or later the foam and outer cover are going to tear, otherwise I'd probably just keep the stock wheel.
