Car's dead. Won't turn over...help plz

So yeah. on my way home from work today at 2pm. I get to the center of my town listing to music. Light turns green I go and my car's not moving. It shutoff. Im like shit. I try and start it and the car like cranks over. dies and im getting beeped at.

I managed to move the car down the street into a lawyers office parking lot. I sit there keep trying and nothing's happening. I sorta hear fuel pump and yeah.

Call mom she came. and yeah. I thought i may be out of gas, I bought a gas can, jumper cables, and went back put it in and primed it or whatever and still nothing. im like shit. wtf could it be.

I pull VC off and look at the motor, rip the TB cover off. I thought it broke, although it seems some what loose.

But yeah, its in tack.

I talk to cpmike and he told me it could not be getting spark. and it makes sence I replaced the main relay, and took the fuel line off the fuel rail, put a cup there and it filled up when i turned the key. so the pump is fine.


So it's deff not getting spark im 90% sure.

Im replacing the external coil, maybe distubutor if the coil isnt it, and the wires. maybe even the spark plugs.

something very similiar happened to me yesterday, I thought it was the main relay, so I removed it and resoldered it. It wasn't, so me and my dad checked for spark. There was none. I had an extra distributor laying around so I swapped it and it started right up as if nothing had happened.

so check for spark, try swapping the dizzy


btw I have the flacid dizzy if anyone wants it.....

Try gettin your control module and your coil tested first...

Hey maple check your ground's make sure the starter wires are tight. I guess your getting some power seeing its beeping at ya, fuses ? Im sure ya checked all the little stuff first right !

it could also be a broken cam.......take the VC off and have someone turn it over and watch to see if all the valves move. later.

It turns over, but does not catch and start.

It is getting fuel to the fuel rail.

It is not getting spark: definitely or 90%

How did you test for spark/no-spark?

Let's try to trouble shoot. Test for spark and tell us what method, so we know what to suggest.

We also do not know if the injectors are working, but they rarely totally all four fail.

Let us know.
