    Power Problem!

Ok, when i turn my key forward my lights and everything come on, but when I try to start the engine I hear a quick clicking sound and then I lose all power. But if i disconnect the better and then reconnect it I go through the same thing again? Any ideas I am no electrician.

Recheck your voltage sometimes a recharge does not help a battery and you will need to purchase a new one. I would recheck the voltage and crap and your terminals would be a good thing to check make sure they are tight. If you jumped the car and it did the same thing my next culprit I would look into would be the starter. But check terminals if they are tight and if you still have enough voltage in the battery.

look for corrsion on the battery.

turn your headlights on, it will give you an idea of the battery's condition.

your starter may have had enough. later.

You could also try taking a hammer and tapping your starter a few times and then try it.

You have a strong battery? Even jump it? Turn the key, does the engine rotate? Does it start? Then you lose all power? Everything goes dead? Lights, instrument panel, guages, everything?

Did this just start to happen? I think it is your ignition switch. Check the above questions, then get back on this thread.

I get this problem to if ive removed the battery terminals, got power there then turn the key to start, click, then nothing at all, move the battery terminals and I get power again.
I found the problem is caused by a poor connection between the battery terminal and battery post.
Clean the terminals, and make sure that they are clamped tight to the battery post. Also check the power and ground cables for deterioration.

Yes it could be your starter. You check your battery voltage? If its fine then yea time to get a new starter.

Yep you can replace the contacts in in, The contacts are only like $5.
Although It sounds as if the starter soleniod isnt working (pushes the starter gear out onto the flywheel ring gear) Common problem if the battery voltage is low.
Check the battery voltage, And see if you are able to jump start it now.
