    transmision codes

my car just left me in the middle of the road today. i checked the codes 7 and code 15. i know the 7 are the selenoids. but what is code 15. my car jupes from the first gear to the 4th one. after driving like that for 5 min then my car feels like is on Neutral. i have to turn the car off then turn it on again so it can go from the first gear to the 4th one. so what is code 15.

code 15 refers to the "mainshaft connector of the speed sensor".. just check your speed sensor connectors and such and possibly even pull it out and check if everything looks ok..

oh yeah its under the thermostat and it has a gray plug on top if it and the two pipes. right i saw it today but i wasn't sure that it was it.
i get this wierd noise coming from under there.
i also have been told that if that sensor goes wrong>>>>> after that everything in the trany is down hill. is it true????
and where do i buy the shift control selenoids. i have asked at pep boys and strauss but they don't carry it?????(since u know something about automatic transmisions)

the speed sensor has nothing to do with the tranny going out or anything, so i dont know where the hell you heard that.. it just means the speed sensor is going out and you should replace it..

as far as the solenoids, its not a part youll be able to find anywhere but the dealer.. you might be able to hit up a junkyard and get em also.. just ask around the board if anyone has a junked auto tranny and see if you can buy them off of them..

yeah man some guy told me about it and got me scared(that is what happen when u don't know shit about trans)
anyway i hear this noise coming from the vehicle speed sensor. but i see in the gauges that the neadle moves. i see no problem with the speed or whatever. eventhough the vss is gone >>should the car show how fast am igoing???
and my car sometimes don't move when i put it into drive and sometimes just stays at the first gear and then it takes off from first gear and just stays in neutra.<<<<<< does the vss have anything to do with it???? or maybe the selenoids????
sorry about all the questions. i just wanna be sure before i buy this stuff because if its the trans itself then i just buy one in a junk jard and be done with it
sorry again but it looks like u know your way around automatic transmisions.
              thanks for all the help
