Dont hurt yourselves now. IT takes a while with the impact gun sometimes though.

Not unless its acetylene or oxygen. Map, propane, butane won't get it hot enough.Originally posted by cb7wagonPLheat it with a torch before the breaker bar - it should help.
I broke mine loose with a 3/4 inch rachet and a HUGE, thick cheater bar.
Weight is fine and all, but use leverage to your advantage. I'm 178lbs.
I broke 2 1/2 rachets, 1 1/2 breaker bar, and bent 3 cheater bars. This equals a wasted Saturday afternoon.
Also, you may have to wedge the tires to keep them from spinning while you are trying to break the nut loose.Last edited by koffin; 10-25-2006, 03:01 PM.WTB - IACV for H22a4.

I can't afford Snap On, so I "snap" all my Craftsman. I returned 2, 1/2 drives in a matter of 15 minutes a month ago. At that point I proclaimed, "rachets are not breaker bars".WTB - IACV for H22a4.

lol Better not be 6' tall. Ahahaha!
Ya, breaker bars are better than ratchets though for heavy "breakin." (bb-boyz please do not acknowledge this comment as offensive)
The impact gun works great, just have to use if for 20 minutes to get the bolt loose. It's what I used!

Yeah, impact guns are great in that situation. I ended up using a 1k ft lbs of tq rachet gun to get mine off. But whatever rating gun you end up using, you can be sure that there's a lot less of an element of danger involved compared to wielding some 4' long breaker bar.Originally posted by maroonaccord2.2The impact gun works great, just have to use if for 20 minutes to get the bolt loose.
