take the caliper off (including the braket that holds it on) there are two 17mmm bolts that hold it on .....then postion the broken stud at 9-oclock (where the caliper used to be) and bang the stud with a hammer and it'll fly ou the back (use a screwdriver if whats left isn't long enoght ) then just slip the new stud throygh the hole an wa-la

here is a diy but its kinda wrong .....you have to remove the WHOLE caliper

I had this problem happen to me and I hear it can be really difficult to do. I just took mine to the local tire shop and they fixed in ten minutes and didn't even charge me. good luck

This is good info, I didn't know it was so easy.

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

^ There may be a window where the stud could punch through the back, if not, the rear hubs come off alot easier than the fronts! But I'm banking on that it'd be similar to doing a stud in the front.

Very good info, I wasn't aware changing studs on the front were that simple

well it helps to have a BFH (big f-in hammer). if it's seized on there it'd be really hard to bang out. also when putting back the replacement stud you have to somewhat "press" it back on. one way to do that is to get a couple of washers and an open ended lug and tighten it down all the way until the stud is flush against the hub or the same length as the rest of the studs. this is a pull type method of doing it.
