    Valve tick?

My friend has an 03 Tiburon he bought it wrecked and is rebuilding it we noticed there was a tic coming from the engine im pretty sure its not a rod knocking but whats weird is that when you start it and let it idle on its own it doesn't do it. The only time it does it is after you rev on the engine or drive it what do you think it might be cause as far as i know a valve ticking is a constant thing not something that comes about after you rev on the car. It never does it on start up just when it is reved on or drivin

I actually had the same problem in my nissan. all the local mechanics throught it was a valve or rocker arm issues. It turned out to be a cracked Piston. But it did the same thing as your buddies. it only made the sound when being reved or driven.
