    Aftermarket Rubber Antenna Help

    So I bought this :

In hopes for a better Antenna. I'll be doing the S2k Antenna swap as soon as II can get my hands on one. But in the meantime, this'll have to do.

My stock one works, and goes up and down, but it never goes up anymore because I don't have it hooked up to my CD player. The only way I could hook it up, was to make it go up when the car is started, and retract when the car is off. I didn't like that.

So, I want to replace with the new one I bought.

Will the new one work? If so, how would I go about installing it? There's a connector on the new one, but I checked to see if there was a connector on my car, but couldn't find it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hmmmm

well i did the s2k swap and that was pretty much str8 forward.

When you peel back the trunk lining to reveal the antenna assem, the old setup....when you pull of the plugs...some reattach that run to the radio up front. I think one was for the up/down shit that i left off because the s2k are not motorized.

Looking at that pic...you might need to splice the wire from the new antenna into the preexisting harness....that male end on the new one....thats what the plug i had looked like running to my radio....and it plugged into the female end on the s2k box...

thats really all i can think of.....

how much did you pay for that if you dont mind me asking?

Thats just like the one that I got! You gotta go into the trunk and pull back the trunk ,iner on the left (driver) side so you can access the antenna. You first have to remove the special antenna nut (http://www.antennamastsrus.com/Nut%20Removal.htm) after the nut removal, There is a 10mm nut you have to loosen that holds in the antenna assembly (this you will find in the trunk, once you pull back the trunk liner. Once this nut is removed, and the wire harness, black antenna cable, and draining tube is removed from the antenna assembly, it sould come right out. The new one is easy to pop in and all you need to do is hook it up to the existing blackantenna cable.

      hope this helps,

I have something like that..i got tired of buying new mast antennas and my OEM spoiler breaking them.

was just about to post about rubber replacement antennas....

came out to my car in the parking lot after work today and my car antenna, which never retracted anymore because it skipped on the little motor, was bent completely off, just hanging from the interior cable.....

some disgruntled worker or some bored little shithead kid....

              anyway....

i'm going to see if pepboys has this by me.... sounds pretty straightforward..... would think i have to just remove the motorized busted antenna and then connect this one.... but yes, that does look you'd have to cut the end off and splice the cable to the existing antenna cable....
