Main Relay question, yeh another one

OK, I have a f22b dohc swap and every now and then after a half hour of driving, if I shut off the car or stall maybe, and try and start it right back up, it wont, it will just crank. I would have to wait like 1 min utes before it woulr fire up again. I ignored it because I didnt think it was important. Well, the last two times I cranked it it took and second or two longer than normal. Then as I was leaving work this afternoon, car in the sun, no start but crank. Cracked the fuel rail to see if fuel would spray and nothing being that I had a 17mm handy. Now, my question is does the main relay control the fuel pump or ignition, or both at the same time?? How often is the fuel pump the problem in this kind of scenario?? How likely is it that it could be the fuel filter ina case like this??, could it be clogged so badd that no fuel can pass through it whatsoever?? I asking these to people who has this experience before because my job is kinda far and I would like to know the best possibilities because Im gonna go back to try and fix it there, as long as its not the fuel pump that is. Any help is appreciated.

          main relay.

re-solder if you're broke, need a temporary fix, or just wanna save a few pennies. Or just pay the 70ish for a brand new one from Honda. Try majestic, it may be slightly cheaper.

          that is all. good luck

or just leave it hanging and whenever it doesnt want to turn on just...start cranking and hit against the bottom of the dash... ghetto way but it works...use to do it when i had the 4dr.

Thanx fellas but I actually fixed it a few days back, bought a brand new one. I still dont understand what being hot has to do with the shit not working, it cranks up in the night time when its cool just fine. Anyways chill

I think the heat overtime wears out the solder joints that keep the the unit attached to the circuit board. So once they heat starts wearing it off it causes the car to hesitate when starting up or not starting up at all.

I just soldered mine yesterday. Once you solder it, it's like new again. Oh yea, it's not hard at all, I was afraid I might eff it up, but it's really simple.
