Mounting MSD 6A - vibration sensitive?

msd makes vibration damper mounts for their 6A ignition boxes. fine and dandy, but will the box be fine mounted to the chassis without them?

id assume so, but id like to know what other people have done - did you mount your box right to the frame somewhere?

Well i dont know if this will help you or not but my buddy has a 96 civic hatch and he did the complete MSD upgrade and he bolted his shit to the firewall and he had no issues with vibration

my 6a is mounted on the frame (where the battery was) without the rubber mounts. Its been about 1.5 yrs and i bought it used

mine was stuffed between a charge pipe and the sidewall where the battery used to be. Bought mine used to and never had a prob

Antoine, are you using MSD wires with the ignition or NGK blues?

stock honda wires. After seeing 600whp out of a completely stock (brand new) honda ignition system you start to realize they knew what they were doing so i try to keep things very simple.

hmm sounds good. i know of a couple people who also mounted to the frame, but i wanted other input.

yay for sheet metal screws... so much easier than making a bracket and finding rubber isolators. woohoo

i was kinda in a quandary about how to mount this 6al and the MAMMOTH hvc coil, so both will be sturdy but out of the way. especially because both locations ill be using you cant access from behind to put nuts on. but im all set now, ill get started on it tonight
