my car started throwing the cel. when i drive at a consistant speed the car feels lik its surging. then it will surge one last time and throw the light then it wont surge but when i come to a stop the idle will dive to about 100 and idle rough. when i start to take off the car will bog and then take off. this only happens when im driving. the cel will come off if i turn the car off and back on.

if its bogging under light acceleration then it could be your EGR valve [i'm having the same issue with the bogging under light accel. cleaned off the EGR valve, trying to do the ports (but they are a bitch)].

The rough idle could be your IAC

I could be wrong though

also, pull the CEL code to verify what it is.

1500 posts...u REALLY should know how to check CEL codes on your CB.

blue service connetor on the passenger side under the dash, pull it down and jump the two terminals with a paperclip or wire.

blue service connetor on the passenger side under the dash, pull it down and jump the two terminals with a paperclip or wire. turn ur key to second position and read the blinks of the CEL light on ur cluster.

1 long= 10
1 short=1
example.. 4 long 3 short = code 43

count ur blinks over and over again. a pause means that the code is over and it is reciting the next code. so for example 3long blinks + 1short = code 31. 3longblinks+1short+pause + 4long blinks = code 31, and 40. hope that helps

I would suggest cleaning the EGR before replacing it.

at a stop it does. not when driving.

yes. then it will choke hard n the light will come on and the idle drops low and strugles to take off.
