You just need a standard size 5/8" spark plug socket and 6 or 9 inch extension. I don't understand why you need this specialized socket, this is very easy work using basic tools.

The problem is, both my extentions are just shorties .. like me ..
So I was looking at those and thought I could save in buying one tool, instead of
having to purchase another extention as well. Man .. those pluggies are fawkin down there!

      Thanks 81 !!!

Amen, common sense man. If you don't have a 6 inch extension, you should it comes in handy for many other jobs.

                I picked up a set of 3 extensions for $10 from Sears. 3", 6", and 9".

Oh yea and be sure to get a magnet if you dont already have one to pull up the plugs once you have them loose. Those little suckers are a big help

If you can find a 5/8 spark plug socket with a rubber lining they are the best. I think Sears sells them. They will hold the spark plug in the socket no matter what angle you hold them at. That makes it easy to remove them with out magnets or pliers. They make it easy to replace the plugs as well.

All spark plug sockets should have rubber lining so you dont damage your plugs. I would just buy the extensions, cause come on, who wouldnt want more tools?

I always like more tools .. hahahaha ..
Went to Sears yesterday, got a 9" ext. and a 5/8" socket, yep .. with the rubber.
Worked great! Hahaha .. I was just curious on the links above .. wanted to know
if anyone had ever done anything different .. coulda sworn I had a plug socket ..
Owell .. use it every so often, it's no wonder I couldn't find it ..

                        Thanks Doooods !!!

LOL. I got my set from there as well. My wife was nagging me to go there way back. So while browsing there I saw there tools with decent prices. I ended up buying more stuff than her

also...don't use the spark plug socket to install them...ONLY to remove them.

spark plug socket has the rubber in it.

SURE guys do it all the time...so did I...but one day...that rubber came off...and I didn't realize it cause it was the last one...went to do my plugs again...and that rubber piece expanded...and had oil on it...no good...

so just save some trouble...use the rubber to get out...go straight meat to put in...I mean no rubber to go in...
