Looked at a CD5 over the weekend

Maybe you guys could help me...I saw something on the body that made me a little uneasy. For one, the headlight on the left side I noticed was sticking out a bit(not lined up properly)..maybe I'm overreacting on that. I forgot to mention it to the guy while I was inspecting the car. Also, I saw 4 "lines" on this area of the car, but on the right side.

When I say lines their almost like thin fairly deep dents that are perfect straight. There were 4 of them and they appeared to be equal length. They are under the paint. I carfaxed this car and its been in 3 accidents. 1st one.. "Involving a front impact
with another motor vehicle Moderate damage reported". The second "Involving a rear impact with another motor vehicle Slight damage reported". The third "Involving a front impact with another motor vehicle No damage reported".

Do you think this car is a product of poor body work or some kind of damage has occurred to the car? I pointed the lines out to the owner of the car(he's owned it for 5 months as a project car) and he said he didn't even notice until I pointed them out. I decided I should have a mechanic inspect the car for signs of repair/body damage and see what he says.

    What do you guys think?

From the gist of his post, I think he has already looked at the car in person.

To the OP, take the car to a mechanic and have him inspect it. Most of them will do this for under $20, and it only takes a few minutes. If the seller has a problem with you taking the car to a mechanic for this purpose, walk the other way. It isn't worth it.

          x2.

The current owner has had it for 5 months and didn't notice something that took you a few minutes to see? That's pretty shady.

^ I gave him the benefit of the doubt on that after seeing how in depth he went with describing everything else on the car and what needed to be fixed. Part of me want this car because its been so long looking but I think your right..doesn't seem worth it.

don't get it, a car shouldn't have dents up that high, even if it was repaired. that means that something major probably happened in one of those THREE accidents. which is another reason not to get it, three accidents is three to many for me.

Shouldnt this be in the "Other Automotive" section? ...

But yeah man, i wouldnt get it.
For one, those are cars are a dime a dozen.
Second, i wouldnt get a car with accidents like that.
Three, it probably has a salvage title which can be a bitch to register.
