U MUST fill it wit coolant! If u fill it wit just water, the motor will not be cooled sufficiently. Coolent raises the boiling point of the water, and witout it, the water in the radiator and system will just boil, and cause you many, many problems..

my friend used this on his radiator a few days ago he said it was the best 4 bucks he ever spent. he was filling like 3/4ths of a bottle of coolant a day before.Originally posted by Final 204
if it's a lil leak in the rad, try this "bars mixture" stuff you can buy in stores, in a grey bottle i used some in the DEAD of winter last year and it actually worked pretty good, cept it'll leave alot of brown shit in yer rad if you use to much.

I'd be hesitant about using any 'stop leak' kinda stuff, as who knows what it'll adhere to and gum up inside the coolant passages in the engine. I would not use it and simply replace the radiator or whatever's leaking.
Get it done and over with; you'll end up spending as much money over time with 'snake oil' as you would just buying a new one.Former: 90 Accord EX Coupe, 93 10th Anniversary in Frost White

Re: radiator. . .
Tap water is bad for your cooling system. Also, if you have an O.E. water pump, I would use the ready mix from the Honda dealer ($10). I have been getting all my radiators from radiator.com. In my accords I have the 19VI (visteon) for $80 delivered. It is plastic tanks/aluminum core. I am putting one in this weekend. too easy. When I do this on older vehicles I replace the upper/lower hoses and thermostat. Get-er-done. Saves messin' with it latter. Unless yer gettin' rid of the car.Originally posted by ChIoVnIdCa
