I never really understood why some people cook them in the oven after painting? Is it just a method to "cure" the paint, how hot does the oven have to be and how long does it take?

i think it makes the paint harder and not sure on the temp. or lenght of the bakeComment

Depends what your talking about
Some people use wrinkle paint that wrinkles when heat is applied to it, this makes it look like the oem paint and gives it a nice textrue.
Others are not painting and are actually powder coating their VC. This requires the compound to be baked.Comment
