The best way to make these work is to slip the mounting plate with 2 holes underneath your fender lip and then screw through the fender and mounting plate. It's secure and has no play.
This way, your hood sits completely flush when closed. I am very happy with the end result.

I got some hood props off of an 99 cl last weekend got them cleaned up and going to install them some time this week. I know they will most likely be short a little but thats ok if they are. Its just a new option for us. I will still use the middle fender bolt location and drill and tap the middle of the hinge so if they are really short i can get the legend ones. I will post pics when i get it done.
