i think theres something wrong with the A/C switch somewhere, coz when i press my 'on' button, the compressor doesnt engage.

Nothing wrong man, If the system is bone dry the switch wont let it spin the compressor. i unplugged the wire to the compressor, and jumped it to the battery so the compressor was spining, then charged it imediatly.
