So I just replaced the head on my 92 EX. It runs amazing and idles smoother than any cb7 I've owned. But I have an issue. While it's running it leaks a very large amount of oil. From what I can tell it is coming from the timing belt side of engine more towards the front end of the car. I haven't had a chance to get under the car and see what is causing the leak yet. It doesn't look like it's coming from the head but I could be wrong. Does anyone have any idea what I could have forgotten that is causing this?

Did you do the timing and balance shaft belts while you had it apart? Replace the cam, crank, and balance shaft seals? The most likely culprit is the forward balance shaft seal; they have a tendency to pop out and create a large leak. There is a retainer that can be added to keep the seal in place. The balance shaft seal retainer is part number 06923-P0A-306Last edited by Fleetw00d; 10-11-2018, 05:15 PM.90 LX 4dr 5 spd 396,014 (sold 1/1/2022) - MRT: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=201450

It appears I was thinking of something else entirely. Im assuming this is what needed to be replaced. I kinda put it back in place already but it was completely loose. Can someone please verify that it was in fact this part that needs replacing?
Does anyone else have a monthly budget of 10mm sockets or is it just me?

I've had this issue before. Balancer shaft seal. Known issue that they will come out after a while. So you need to replace this seal and then I'd invest in a block off plate that they make. Can't remember if they make these for the F series though, they must.

Yep that balance shaft seal looks like it popped out for sure. I always removed the balance shaft belt so I never ran into that issue. But just knowing that it is suppose to sit flush with the block. I’d say it’s shot~Nick~
