90-91 and 92-93 Differences / History

ok i too have a 91 ex that has a center armrest storage compartment AND intermedit wipers that adjust. 91 acord 130,000 miles and running very strong. just bought it from a friends mom

Center arm rest was a dealer option for 1991.

My 91 SE(4 door) does not have a air-bag, but it does have Anti-lock brakes.

Ditto what kdub said: no airbag/yes ABS on my '91 SE. Airbags standard from '92 I think.

Intermittant wipers on the "lowly" EX? What's up with that? I'm jealous! Then again, I have no center console (bus yes to lumbar --- booya!)

my car has an f22A6, lumbar, armrest, and regular seatbelts.

No, but '91 CDN's didn't have mandatory passive restraints like in the U.S. In '92, when the Accord got standard airbags, it did the right thing by ditching the motorized seatbelts. Unlike say, Nissan, who KEPT motorized seatbelts on '92s and some later --- even those with optional airbags.

Well other than the rear bumper being reshaped between 90-91 and 92-93 and the differences in the interior fabrics, and the addition of the maintence required light, there really isn't that much left, that I know of at least off the top of my head, and I've spent a bunch of time with all thist stuff.

The headlight lenses and side markers are also diff. between 90-91 and 92-93. The 92-93 cars had the 'curve' in the lens closer to the bottom.

the distance from top to bottom on a 90-91 grill is greater than a 92-93. that's why you can only find a billet grill for a 92-93. the one i have on my '91 could use another bar. later.

Did any one mention the headlights are different on 90-91, and 92-93, as are your corner lights, turn signals, and fog lights.

The rear speakers on a 90-91 are smaller than a 92-93, which are 6x9's.

USDM Cobalt blue had Beige interior for 90-91, but for 92-93 they got Grey.
Also in 90-91 they were offered in LX and EX.
In 92-93 they only came in LX.

.......wow this is like the history channel ............i got a 90........ nothing Special everything blue bumpers and all inside blue........ sorry my car didn't come with nothing special like everyone else............all i did was paint the bumpers black and change the hood
