ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Decreasing Turning Radius

I am wondering what would be the best way to decrease the turning radius. I do know I will probably have to reinforce the suspension. If newer tires help with the radius, I am already there. Any suggestions?

why? like you literally want to be able to turn in a smaller circle better?

there are easier ways to improve handling

I do. I realized that it needs improvement when my friends SUV could do a better U-Turn than I could. Eventually I will be competing in autocross this summer so handling would be nice as well.

haha well idk about mods to just focus on your turn radius itself, but i have koni yellow shocks with tein s tech springs, spc camber ball joints, strut bars, and progress rear sway bar. with those i noticed a major increase in handling. and i went to autocross. theres a video embeded on the last page of my mrt

thanks I killed em the first run. I beat my friend in his is300 by 10 seconds and in that video some dude in a vette got a few seconds faster than me but he hit 2 or 3 cones.

A lot about a vehicle's turning radius is determined by its wheelbase, track and steering ratio. The steering ratio is the only 3 of those that is easily changed by retrofitting another steering rack. You would want your track to be narrower but you can't really do that. A really narrow tire would move the centerline of the tire contact patch closer to the middle but then you have the disadvantages of a narrow tire.

Why again do you want to do this? 3-point turns have you feeling down?

^ I'd want to tighten mine up for that reason as well. It's not a problem when you're stock, but having to 3-point turn in my neighborhood just to leave every morning because of my being lowered with a lip was annoying. My RSX has the same exact turning circle, and the ride height is definitely not staying stock

that's part of the sacrifice though.

I have had enough of 3 point turns and my friends SUV does a U-Turn better, kind of annoys me in a friendly competetive way. He does have an advantage of being more "tail-happy" and has to break hard to out turn me. I try to do what he does and nothing. He also does not keep tires for too long either when I think about it.

the cb7's turning radius does suck really bad compared to basically any other car ive driven. my 3g lude when it wasnt 4ws turned way better and the chassis is WIDE! if the front wheels would actually TILT then turning would be tighter. 4ws cb7 would be nice but since the rear suspension is an odyssey i wouldnt want to have to buy a custom coil set up for it alone.

That's what this thread is about. Does it HAVE to be part of the sacrifice? I guess it's down to whoever is willing or has the money to experiment with different parts.

Modify the rack with a different gear ratio and use a rack with a longer row of teeth and relocated steering stops (if such things exist, I'm just guessing here, lol). Just get the wheels to turn more, and slightly quicker to compensate. Drift cars do something like this, don't they? Is there a Honda out there with a really good turning radius? Find a used rack off that car for cheap, take it apart, and compare it to a spare CB rack.

When I was borrowing my uncles Jeep Wrangler for a bit I did not need to worry about turning radius as I could just drive over whats in the way. I still have this mentality.
