Masons have their hand in quite a bit. I've known a few. Considered joining myself, but I'm not reliable enough. I'd make the guy that vouched for me look bad!
Honestly, I don't see anything terribly wrong with the situation... weird, yes, but it's not making me fear a police state or anything like that. Perhaps it IS just training in a city environment. The crew of those helicopters can't be expected to do all their training in the remote wilderness, and then be expected to perform at their best when exposed to a city environment.
