Howdy

Hello all, well kinda new to this, but here goes.
I recently bought a 92 Accord EX, I love this car, it had a few minor problems but I think I got a good deal for a car that only had 98K miles. It's Seattle Silver, but the clearcoat is shot (damn Texas heat) I plan to eventually Pull the motor (an F22A6 with stock 4-2-1 exhaust) and drop in an H22A1 (I've read I should avoid H22A4's because they are ODB II any truth to this?) Well that's about it, BTW anyone here had their car repainted the stock colors, or know how much this runs?

Yeah i think the h22a4 have the OdBII but i not all good with h22's i would ask deever or cpmike and about the car repainted.. a couple have been repainted.. If you go to macco you can get a really good paintjob for like 300-400 bucks.

Welcome!! I am actually a new comer myself. As far as the paint goes you should be able to repaint the car the same color and not have to worry about door jams, engine bay, etc. I think you'd be looking somewhere between $1000-$1500 for a quality paint job. That price would probably include taking out some minor dings and things. I don't have much advice as far as which H22 to go with, I'm sure others will be able to help with that.

Yeah, H22A4 is OBDII (emissions controls from 1996+). It's harder to mod an OBDII car because they throw codes at the slightest modification. OBDI is what you want. You CAN convert an OBDII engine to OBDI, but it's not worth the effort, IMO. Just go for the H22A1 and you'll be good .
