I agree. Madspleen... you're starting this nonsense. If this gets locked and I get banned for a week that's fine. But if I get banned I want MadSpleen banned too. Moderators came in and told us to play nice... that's an approval of the thread. It's not about politics it's about watching the new president. That's it. There is only one person who has a problem for some unknown reason.

Rules are rules. They say the person that made the thread will be banned for a week. I still do not understand why this thread is here and why moderators have played along? Is this thread against the rules or not? And why in the hell would I be banned? For stating the obvious that this is a political thread?

From the current rules, ALL POLITICAL THREADS are not allowed. I do not see anything stating that "if the thread does not deal directly with policy it is allowed."

Anyone that doesnt like reading my posts feel free to add me to your ignore list, then you don't have to see them. Its that simple.

It is supposed to cost in excess of $150 million dollars, compared to the last one which was 41 million.

The cost of security has skyrocketed since 9/11. I can't even imagine how many armies of people will be hiding on rooftops and in the crowd.

I would definitely watch it, but I will be working, so I guess I will have to watch it on the net after I get done.

The second one maybe, but nowhere near on the level YOU are taking this to. This hasn't been an escalating politically focused thread until now.

This is more of a historical thread as it is not about whose views are right or wrong, and it never was. It hasn't been about whose agenda is better or who has better ideas. It was about the inauguration and who would be attending/watching. This happens every 4 years, regardless who is being elected and which agenda they have. The fact is that every 4 years someone who will shape the world for future generations takes office.

My statement was not political in any way shape or form. It was historic fact. It has happened to EVERY President in history, be they Whigs, Torries, Republican or Democrat. There is always a promise of new when someone gets elected and then things get bogged down in the reality of people, politics and agendas. I made no partisan comment in anyway shape or form, merely a historical observation.

Ironically, George Washington made the plea before leaving office for the leaders to not create political parties, as he very clearly stated that political parties could not work in the general favor of the country. It appears he may have been right...
