depends what it is. granny drivin in the snow? fwd

all time traction awd but it have its downide too.

rearwheel drive is good for straight line launching. and if done right good drifting.

like they said they all have it's pros and cons. all the way how you handle your car and how you enter and exit ur rurns!

Although, i like to think RWD is more fun day to day. AWD is awesome if you ca spin all four wheels.

FWD is more practical. Requires less experience to drive. No worrying about things like spinning tires like you do with a RWD car. Sucks trying to get onto a major road in the rain while pointing up hill with a standard differential pickup spinning one wheel.

personally from driving rwd and fwd they both have there wins. Never driven a awd before though so I cant really put my input on that.

Have to disagree on a few points.

AWD isn't awesome if you spin all 4 tires, they're not made to spin tires especially when speaking of ultimate handling.

"With front wheel drive, you don't have to worry about spinning tires like RWD applications". False. When you launch (any car), momentum is shifted to the rear of the car. With FWD, there will be less less weight, thus less tire to ground contact, making the tires spin. With RWD, there will more weight, thus more traction, which limits tire spin.

I find it easier to keep my wheels from spinning with a FWD car because you have a good 300+ pounds of weight in the front of most cars.

I understand what your saying, but thats not always the case. Some high power vehicles need to put weight into the rear just to get traction.

And granted, spinning all four wheels isn't the best for handling, but is awesome still.

I think he meant as a comparison for the question at hand.

I know the GTR is up there at the Nurburgring (AWD) along with lamborghini (AWD) and the Z31 (RWD). But i haven't checked recently.

But i know an EVO took a lambo out for dinner one on that track. It must be easier for an AWD to get better times seeing as they must handle better on a paved track.

Or it's just easier for a driver to handle a car with AWD.

I really like the grip driving dynamics of FWD.

I like the slip driving dynamics of RWD.

I like the grip that AWD has on slippery surfaces.
