EP loss to an Accord

Yep, I lost to an Accord. A 93 Accord, with only exhaust, 2" drop, and what makes it even worse: an auto tranny. It's my friend's and he wanted to play a little, so we were out on this deserted road, I had three passengers, he had none. 3 honks, I let him have a carlength headstart, I launch, almost stall, but the EP struggles and starts to crawl forward. My passengers start laughing as the gap between me and the Accord grows more. I shift into 2nd, 3rd, start closing the gap, then let off at the top of 3rd, and the Accord is a good car and a half ahead of me. We line it up again and its the same damn scenario. I was just laughing my ass off at myself. It was really quite an embarrassing loss. I fockin suck at launching. All I have is a magnaflow catback and riding on some heavyass 17s.

I officially retire from street racing. I'm just an embarrassment to everyone that races in EPs

you shouldn't let this discourage you. What doesn't kill us only make us stronger. One can always use something like a loss to motivate you to get better at something. A little practice can go a looooong way. Also it wouldn't hurt to put a B18c up in that piece and catch him sleepin'

p.s. next time lose the dead weight. Those laughers could have EASILY ended up walkers nahmean.

you have a new ep3? civic si and lost to one of our accords? whats wrong with you...those are 160hp...were you shifting right?

those ep3's are suppose to run 16.0 in the 1/4...learn how to drive , but the weight difference can make a huge impact like that...

wasnt my cb7 nor my buds si although we did race one time and i did get the jump on him when he was in stock mode. but he quickly caught up and took the win. he now has a Jackson Racing Supercharger and tons of suspension work. 181.1 whp we are awaiting the shipment on his race upgrade should put him somewhere in the 224ish range. he hasnt raced it since the SC got put in but its a hell of difference now i drive it once and awhile.

and rumor is azn is getting a ep3 i wanted one but since my bud has one im thinking of getting a SRT-4, havent decided yet. need to get some stuff from Mayberry then we'll have to see but probably only one more summer with the cb7 then on to another car.

as for a swap the most popular swaps are the K20a3 (acura version of the K20) and Ka24 out of CRV. The Ep3 version of the Jackson Racing SC is suppose to be a direct fit on the Ka24 and then you have serious HP and TQ.

EP3's aren't as great as people think they are.

Sure they have more hp than a CB, but they also are heavier. Plus with their gearing, they have to be revving really high to keep the power levels up.

I kept up with with an EP3 on the highway a few weeks ago, we were both on it and I was pulling on him enough to surprise me.

the ep3's are faster than accords...shhh you didnt hear that...the rumor really is that im gettin an STi

granted for little money you can get an SRT4...i still dont want a domestic...

where do you guys get these stories

side note: ep3's weigh 10lbs more than a 4g sedan, 6lbs heavier than a coupe

Well, I was comparing him to my 90 LX, and I guess they were lighter than the 92-93 models.

I'm not saying I could take him in a race, maybe he wasn't pushing pushing, but I was pulling on him for awhile and he was going for it, so I dunno.

yeah i have a dodge stratus already. and the only reason i like the SRT4 is the factory warranty. i get the fact that its only a neon but then again a cb7 is still just a cb7 ,its all in the way you look at it.

as for the rumor..i saw in some post. here.
i was wondering cuz my bud has alot of stuff for sale off his I.E body kit, some other things.

exactly a cb7 IS a cb7, thats why they look nice. you shouldnt get a neon because it is a neon. i would rather have my car over any neon, i dont care what they throw under the hood.

dont im sure you had the right intention on the swap and if it was feasible the B18c would be the motor of choice. hell anything with real v-tech. That I-vtech is something i completely dont understand all that well me and my bud stood out in the driveway discussing it for 3 hours when he just stopped by for a few minutes...lol We tend to do that , get started talkin about cars and always manage to piss the wives off.
