Im in so much trouble right now

Well the po po just showed up at my house looking for some stolen rims. I bought them from a good friend that I know for a fact doesnt steal from people. Now the po po (state po po I might add) is telling me I might be going down for receiving stolen goods. The other bad part is that a member on here has those rims and they are out of state. I dont know what to do. Ive already contacted the member.

If the "popo" are there, why are you on the internet?

Thats ridiculous. Innocent until proven guilty. Get a lawyer and you'll be fine.

Unless you or your friend stole them

Wow...that sux. When you say the state police, do you mean state troopers are at your house? I didn't think they did investigations like that?

As for going down for recieving stolen property it is really up to the cop/justice system on how big of a dick they want to be. Because in SC not knowing that the property is stolen is not a excuse, they can still charge you. Good luck man I hope everything works out.

He probably just has one hell of a stick up his ass. That or HE has rims just like that and they got stolen and he wants to blame you.

One of the things you should do is keep a file. In that file put all the paperwork for everything you buy for your car. that's what I do and I have paperwork on my wheel repair, and purchase from the junkyard so if people say i STOLE my rims I can always pull up a receipt.
Been a long time. Still alive...

Is it even really that big of a crime? Seems like just a stupid misdemeanor. Couldn't be any worse than a theft charge and most the time you won't even get jail time for that depending on the amount.

So they are accusing you of receiving an item you don't have in your posession?

They were Kosei wheels. The guy that I bought them from said that the guy that HE bought them from was very shady and lived very close to where the rims were stolen. The guy I bought them from I know for a fact isnt a theif or anything close. The guy goes to church every Sunday so I know for a fact he doesnt steal. But the guy that he got them from is going down and not any of us. I cant get in contact with the investigater for the county which they were stolen and I have a bad feeling they are going to be up here to arrest me for that stupid bullshit. But I know I am innocent and the guy that has them now is also innocent and will hopefully be able to keep them and the person that stole them will have to buy the original owner a brand new set....which is EXPENSIVE!

they're going to ignore the face that the guy goes to church every sunday. priest are out there molesting little boys so that means nothing that a regular guy goes to church.

i would get a lawyer tho. im sorry. if i dont know an item is stolen i shouldnt be punished because i bought them.

Possession is 9/10ths of the law as they say. Also are there any sort of traceable markings on the rims? If not, the police really don't have anything to get you on, hearsay doesn't hold up in court. Remember they have to prove "beyond a reasonable doubt". Also if you feel as if a specific "officer" has been harassing you on multiple occasions, you are entitled to file a "grievance". If shit hits the fans, get a lawyer and don't tell them anything. If you don't say shit, they don't know shit.
