lol, I was doing that based on what Deev had posted prior.

I personally don't give a shit if they're on the site or not. A nice CB is a nice CB.

Definitely. People get so butt hurt about other CB's being featured. Oh well, life's unfair.

Very true. That's how much of the bad blood started... Joey didnt' mention CB7tuner, and people thought he was being an ass for doing so. He later explained that what he was able to say was heavily edited, and very limited... AND the fact that the car was built largely outside of this site. It would be like Bisi thanking this site for inspiration, when he's been working with the F22A motor probably longer than this site even existed! This may be the largest 4th gen Accord community on the internet, but it's not the hub of all things relating to that car. There are PLENTY of serious tuners that aren't on here, aren't big on internet stuff in general... and even some that absolutely HATE this place (the 30 post thing turns a lot of people off...)

People bitch and complain about how CB's never get featured. Well, guess what, until people start really building these things and not just adding a few parts here and there it's not going to happen. Like Chris said, you have to have the whole package. I know of a ton of really great cars on this site that are amazing but lack in certain areas which hold them back from magazine coverage. Not to say their cars are bad in any way, they're just not what editors are looking for.

Not only that, but the bar is constantly being raised as to what is magazine worthy. Unfortunately, I don't think that Joey's car would make a cover in today's tuner industry. It was amazing for that time but by today's standards it was just another amazing run of the mill build. Now we have guys like Sean from Status Seats taking things to levels way beyond what most people on this site even cosider possible. Sure, it's not practical, but "building" a car isn't about having the best bang for the buck. It's about going balls to the wall and getting the best you can while trying to piece together a coherent platform. Just look at what this guy's doing

So, take it or leave it.

well look. cb7's with h22's are kinda comin , like a civic with a gsr or b16. cuple months ago there was that white hatch with the j32 swap. and tegs and civics with k series motors. i know theres that guy who did his k swap in his cb but its not a "perfect" car yet and def not ready for a cover yet. . so if someone had the money and did a j32 swap and the car was "perfect" inside and out. then you have a chance. but from joeys car, theres really nothing else that could be done. (fig speaking) he had the h22a, perfect body jdm lights and perfect interior. ....

It also depends on the magazine. Joey was featured in Honda Tuning, which is much more of a "common tuner" magazine. Whereas a magazine like Import Tuner is going to feature big budget, "holy crap I can't believe the did that" builds.

Honestly, I like seeing cars that are in between. I like to see a build that I could potentially do myself, but still something innovative, that has specs that are impressive to look at, as well as an appearance that makes me want to hang the picture up on my wall.

I'm happy CB's aren't in magazines. Leaves more room to be unique, be the underdog, be content. I never look at import mags. The reason? Because they feature the same cars over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over....ect.

Very true. It's the popularity of Civics and Integras that makes them uninteresting to me. I see them so much that I'm not impressed by one that's done really well... because I've seen a million of them done really well! CBs, even though I run this site and see them all the freaking time... I still appreciate them... because I see a lot of crappy ones as well. Though being a part of this community lets me appreciate the people behind the cars... There are some crappy cars that I still admire, because I know the owner (at least through posts, if not personally), and I know their passion for their car. You may have a beat to hell rustbucket, but if you love it, I can respect that!

another point I vaguely remember is his whining about people making and selling "replica" parts.

                        specifically the Chargespeed grille replica.

He made a HUGE fuss about it, saying (essentially) that since he bought a genuine one, no one should be allowed to rock a fake one. This bit got on the nerves of a few people (including myself), and his only offending accusation to our differences was that those who disagreed with him MUST be a hater.

Anyone who had ANYTHING bad to say about him or his car MUST be a hater (aka jealous)

It was a very weak argument... I hope his mentality has matured!

The "hater" comments were a bit over the top, I agree.

I'm on his side with the knockoff stuff, though. Not really because "serious tuners don't rock fake shit"... but because the knockoff companies end up putting the real companies out of business, or at least driving them out of that particular market (if someone is making $50 grilles that look like your $400 grilles, why bother making yours?)... then we're left with inferior products, and nothing of quality.

When talking about a grille, yeah... big deal. But when thinking of something like the Bisimoto header... the reason for the dramatic price drop on that was largely to combat some vulture that was already poised to make knockoff versions of it. If some knockoff company made an inferior version of Bisi's carefully engineered piece, sold it for half the price... how many people would buy Bisi's piece? Probably not enough to justify the production of it, or the development of another one for anything but his own personal racecar use.

It IS important to support the original quality companies.

not the fake vs real debate. if u pay any attention at all, u know that fake parts are terrible for industry.

The only time I really support fake parts is if you make them yourself. That's innovative, not trying to cash in on someone else's engineering.

agreed. and id be pissed too if i payed 400 dollars for the exclusivity, and someone took that away by replicating the parts so everyone could have them for much less..
