I haven't. I'm sure he's busy... lots of head turning and coughing going on for that man!
I wonder if he still has the LS400, or if he's moved on to a newer, "grownup" car. He IS older than me... which means he's older than older than dirt.
I'd like to hear from him as well, though. He was a great guy, and had a very positive influence on this forum. We still refer to his "link and lock" policy of moderation
(JoshM is his spiritual successor...)

Yes i agree its good you got to know him on a different level.Originally posted by deevergote View PostWhen you're told that somone else's car is the best, and your car sucks because it's not like his... you begin to dislike that car. Then you begin to dislike that person.
Joey WAS a total dick on here at the end. I could dig up his deleted MR thread and post exactly what he said. But, it wasn't totally unjustified. People were being unfair to him first.
However, that unnamed member started with the "Joey's car is the best, and yours sucks... you suck if you don't agree!" crap.
The sad thing is, that member had a TOTALLY different car himself, and it was among one of the better looking cars on this forum as well.
And yeah, I was wrong. I let that one member get under my skin, I got caught up in the "mob mentality" for a short time. You're right, as the owner of this forum (and I was at the time), I took it more personally than others that my forum wasn't acknowledged. Part of me saw it as a victory for the CB7 community in general that Joey got featured. To me, the CB7 community consisted of this site. To me, anyone serious about the CB7 was a member here. I still find myself thinking that way from time to time (though I know there are serious enthusiasts that aren't on here, for lack of interest, or because they think we suck...
) I got over that quickly, though... Then I saw Joey's dickish remarks, and I once again started to dislike him. That's when I decided to talk to him on AIM and get to know him a bit. At that point, I realized where he was coming from. He told me about the Camry, and showed me pictures. Once I knew who he was, and how things happened... I gained a lot of respect for him. That respect continues as I see his increased involvement in the import scene.
About the other member saying this and that about his car, yes i would start to hate that car as well. No need to bring up dirty laundry, people grow up and mature both physically and mentally. In the end I agree with your statement listed below, just for the simple fact i feel the same way when i meet other cb7 enthusiasts who probably think im crazy because i tell them about this site and they think its a joke. Ask A.J. aka 1clean92 and he will much talked about the site the first day i met him..
"to me, anyone serious about the CB7 was a member here. I still find myself thinking that way from time to time (though I know there are serious enthusiasts that aren't on here, for lack of interest, or because they think we suck" Statement should be QFT.Header Whorage and Official Part out sale.

I met a guy at our last meet that joined, but thought the 30 post thing was stupid, so he never posted. He still bought stickers, to put next to his mycb7.com stickers.
This is the biggest, most comprehensive CB Accord community... but it's not for everyone. A lot of people don't like the colors. They don't like the way things work around here (it IS a bit different than most communities... I think that's good, but I have to... I made it this way!) They don't like the drama. If you notice, just about every region that has more than 10 VERY active members develops some sort of drama. I can think of drama on all 4 corners of the country... and in the midwest.
