Last year when I was on it, I was only entitled to collect for up to 24 weeks. But I hadn't worked a full calendar year. 5 of those months I was a full time student in trade school.

Now I've worked a year and a half at this company until Thursday, so now I think I'm able to collect for up to 48 weeks. Even then, the amount I'll be receiving won't be enough to pay all my bills, so I need something soon.

The 3 jobs I have applied to show some promise, so I'll wait and see what happens.

I've been on all the large job advertising websites, and there's not a lot available around here right now.

Well of course in a city of a couple million people yo are bound to stumble into a few good looking people. It really is the culture. In Philly, its all about tailgating and drinking beers at almost any sports event, and then going out after for cheesteaks. In Toronto, its all about sushi, and then a walk on one of the many parks they have, or something active.

I cant find the exact link, but here is A Philly Evaluation for 2010. http://www.travelandleisure.com/amer...y/philadelphia

It basically says its fat, ugly, and dirty(in every aspect), but we have good pizza and a lot of history to look at.

Edit: Here is the link where you can pick your city and see how it stacks up.

Feels good for about 10 days. After that second week you start remembering that you're out of work and how bad things could, or might, suck should you not find a job soon.

You have to be careful not to live like you did when you had a steady income. No extra shit for your car(s), no eating out or anything. Thats the hard part.

I bought a 1990 VW Jetta this morning for $250.

Runs awesome, clean interior, new tires, new heater core, new CV shafts and some other stuff. Guy bought it off a friend to fix it up and sell it, but he says he has 2 other projects and is always working, as he's a subcontractor, so he's selling to make some room and get rid of it.

After looking at it, just needs a water pump gasket as it's leaking. Easy car to fix and turn a decent profit on.

I say not to go spending unnecessary money and you buy a Volkswagen.

I keed, i keed. If you can fix it and turn a profit, go for it.

I need something to do, and this will give me a few days to a week's worth of work to clean it all up, repair it and make some profit.

Even if I sold the car as it sits for $500, that's still $250 profit.

The guy I bought it from said his phone has been ringing every 30 seconds with someone calling about it. So I was like "well I'd be stupid not to buy it with the amount of interest you're getting for it."

                Known issues with the car:

                1) It's a Volkswagen. But we can look past that fact lol
                2) AC compressor bearing is noisy. Common.
                3) Coolant leak. Looks to be coming either from the water pump gasket, or the t-stat. May just need to make a gasket for it. Replacing the water pump will be a simple, yet fairly time consuming job. Have to remove the alternator and AC compressor to get at it. Depends how much a water pump or gasket is...actually going to call the parts store right now while I think of it.
                4) Pass side. windshield wiper gear is stripped. Gear moves, but the wiper arm won't. JB Weld?
                5) Starter motor will occasionally drag when starting, usually only when it's really cold. But it starts fine most of the time.

Looks like the only major work I'll have to do is majorly clean and detail the car and fix the coolant leak.

ha. Water pump is $40, T-stat is $13 and a water pump gasket is $2.50

Got the Jetta home. Runs and drives beautifully! Except I ran out of gas like a block from my house lol.

Havent checked it out yet, but definetly the water pump area is leaking. Washed it and cleaned it up and the car presents itself very well, so I should make a good quick buck on it. Heck, I'll even take $800 cash for it as is tomorrow.

If I can sell this Jetta by the end of the month, it'll pay my rent and pocket me some cash. I'd like to get 1000 for it so I can use half for my rent, and then use the other half to buy another flip project. I scored on this Jetta for 250. By the time I buy the water pump, and the $10 gas I put in it, I'm only $300 into it.
