    Computer Help Please

Hi all, I'm really embarassed even posting this, but I wouldn't unless I was just at my limits.

My computer is royally fucked up and its pissing me off. It's completely infested with spy/adware. I'm on my laptop because I can't even deal with it anymore. I just get pop up after popup, there's hundreds of programs in task manager that when I end process on it just restarts.

    I'm currently using:

    Adaware
    Spybot
    Microsoft Antispy Beta 1
    Symantec Antivirus client

These pull spyware things and stuff but its no use. I have to always start my computer in safe mode to get it to work so that I can clear out some junk. I run all the programs daily and to no avail. I'm sure its to do with my computer being hooked up to resnet or something, but my laptop is usually hooked up, so I don't know.

My main issue is with this program called EIE.exe I have no idea what it is, but when I start my computer, it won't load until I Control+alt+delete and then end the process. Then it just reappears. If I don't do that, it doesn't show me the task bar, etc. When I search for it it doesn't show, I know its in the C:\Windows\System32 folder but won't popup. My Microsoft Anti-spy goes nuts with it becuase it keeps popping up that the program wants to install in my startup registry, and I block it and it just pops up. I can't even kill it in DOS.

I've just had it to whatever with the damn thing. It's slow as fuck now and all that. I really don't want to lose what I have on there. Granted I have dual hard drives so I wouldn't lose my media, but still. I'm just sick of coming back to like 80 billion popups, virus found anti program blocked messages.

Can anyone help? Anything would be appreciated.

    Cliffs:

    - Computer loaded with adware.
    - Own tons of Anti-adware/virus software
    - EIE.exe makes computer goofy and not work

Someone please give me some insight of where I could go next.

Hmm Id say try and locate the source of each popfile and delete them all. Thats what I did , but then again I have Norton Antivirus (which IMO is really good).

Try searching the file name online and see if you can try and find tips on how to get rid of it completly.

Been there, done that. I have Norton, the coroporate edition.

The EIE.exe file is the one that's causing me the most headaches. I can't find it online, and its not letting my computer load, unless I go to the task manager and processes and end it there first. Then I can get windows explorer (IE task bar and start button and icons) to work. If not it doesn't do anything.

When my system gets royally fucked like that pretty much nothing will help. The fast solution is to reformat the hard drive. Try to get whatever you need off of it and the wipe out the hard drive. Hopefully you have a copy of whatever Windows you use. It's not hard at all to do.

        Good luck.

ok this is what i would do in this situation, go to start - run - and enter " msconfig ", unclick pretty much everything you dont want to start up with the computer starts...then i would recommend you go here

          http://housecall.trendmicro.com/hous...start_corp.asp

use adaware also..thats another good thing, i see you already have, and norton is a big joke.

and what windows are you running?..i can help out more depending on the OS.

            It's XP.

When I start up the computer, I have to actually control alt delete to start, that's my main gripe.

I wiped everything off that startup using msconfig, and even that didn't help as it restarted itsself when i restarted.

I just really don't want to reformat, I don't have the time, effort or want to lose my files.

It's gotta all be related somehow.

When I launch windows that damn EIE.exe file pops up and makes like 12 copies, and then launches other programs. Norton won't pull it, neither will anything else.

Anyone got any suggestions, my computer words, but I'm sick of my antispyware telling me that EIE.exe wants to be put in my start menu.

Ad-aware is good, but when my system is really messed up it just can't get rid of some of the really hidden spyware.

try telling ad aware to run AT startup, before alot of the spyware crap starts... that helps

To really disable that EIE.exe you can try a couple of things.

Does it show that its a System process or user when you open up task manager?

If its system try going into admininstrative tools/services and stopping it there.

If its user you'll likely have to dive into the registry to disable it.

run all your programs while in safe mod...or search for the EIE.exe...show all your hiddens folder and files and do a search for that file..most likely with XP you can find all those creepy bugs.

Ad-aware is a joke, uninstall it because I think it contributes to your problem ,not fix it. Keep spybot and microsoft antispy beta. Run those in safemode and you problem should be fixed. You may also have to run a registry cleaner. B.T.W Spybot can run at startup as well.

If you pay shipping and send it to me I'll fix it for ya, but a reformat is best, like getting your computer brand new! Also try bazooka spyware cleaner, it can grab of few of the more difficult ones that others don't.

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

it was rediculous. It was soo meesed after that it kept freezing so i rebooted.

Start> Run > msconfig > services -- put check in hide all microsoft -- then disable the rest

then go to general tab and put check in selective startup and take the check out of load startup items

open a folder / in the folder go to TOOLS / FOLDER OPTIONS then VIEW under view click a check in show all files and folders / take the check out of hide and protect system files / then take the check out of hide extentions

click apply / close ---- then restart the comp

then do a search for the file called IIEI.exe and deleat it
