Ya tippy likes to believe that in the Xbox world you would be safe, as it isn't possible for Xbox live to be hacked.
It has nothing to do with Product loyalty.
If people want to use Sony products then they should be able to without worrying that some moronic group of inviduals is going to compromise their information for fun, or any reason for that matter.
And also, when they released information related to the Military and the US Government, that is when i lost respect for them.
You want to prod private companies thats one thing, but when you jeopardize US soldiers who fight to protect your right to use the internet in the first place, that is just bad taste.
You assume alot of things apperently
I never said microsoft couldn't get hacked i simply laughed that they didn't get hacked and sony did.
And again the last part you assume these people even live in the US.
they had a rally here in orlando at the church of scientology. i laughed

Anonymous is the most famous hacker group of all time. At least, the most well known. Lulzsec, Antisec, and a few others are coming into the spotlight, whatever.
Is anyone familiar with what Anonymous does?
I didn't ask what they were
And yeah, I am familiar.
I'd rather lose by a mile because I built my own car then win by an inch because someone else built it for me..your car is your story, so don't let someone else write the book!
Do you really need to make a thread asking if having your car like this /---\ will cause uneven tire wear? Try walking like that for a few weeks and see if your shoes wear funny! (hint: they will.)
If there's allegations of torture or the murder of civilians, wouldn't you want that brought to light? Wikileaks leaked the attack helicopter attacking that group of civies plus 2 Reuters journalists. That was wrong and that needed to be seen.
Anonymous wasn't even a part of that leak. Anonymous performed DDOS attacks against those opposed to Wikileaks. Before that they DDOSed the West Borough Church, Church of Scientology, and the MPAA.
There's no proof that they hacked Sony. That was performed by Lulzsec who is an offshoot of Anonymous. Who has now re-joined to make AntiSec.
Further, Anonymous performed DDOS against the playstation network because Sony was suing a member for illegally modifying his PS3. How would you enjoy it if Honda sued us? Was it right of Anonymous? Was it wrong?

Depends on what they sue for. If the day happend where they got but hurt for putting a JDM red badge from a diffrent honda on our CB, then yeah id be upset right along side of you.
but if you really did somthing wrong then i wont be all blind to whatever reason they have.

There is no reason for a company to sue a customer for modifying the product he bought.

True. Unless the owner replicates the product and starts selling knock-offs, it's theirs to do what they want. If they want to blow it up, it's theirs. If they want to take it apart and customize it, it's theirs.
Anonymous is to the internet as Gandhi was to India.
i don't know if i fully support sony suing Geohotz for his homebrew OS, but i could see the reasoning behind it. when ps3 came with the ability to load linux people took advantage of that to play pirated games. they removed that ability, no more pirated games. GeoHotz's homebrew removed/cracked a security key in Sony's software which would allow you to load your own OS but this would also return the ability to play pirated games. it wasn't a minor breach either, this breach can only be fixed by sony rollin gout a new ps3. they're trying to stay ahead of the new "hacks" by all of these system updates.
i could understand if someone was genuinely interested in loading their own OS, however, it's mostly kids that want to play games they downloaded off of the internet. most of these people don't have the prowess to develop their own "hack" because they aren't hackers. they're just using the info disseminated by geohotz and his actual hacking group. if you were a business owner would you just take it in stride that someone essentially took away your bread and butter? or would you do something to stop and try them?
Doesn't matter. Anonymous went at them with a DDOS. The same thing as if 1000 members showed up in person to every bestbuy and sat around the PS3 so nobody could get to them to buy one.
