    Computer issue

So this computer that i built has been pissing me off lately. Anytime i am playing a graphic intense game like CSS or some RPG game my computer will lock up and buzz at me through the speakers. It is always only games never when i'm typing a paper for school or anything.

When it does that, the only way i can get it to power down is if i yank the power cable in the back or flip the power switch on the PSU.
Sometimes it wont post so i'll have to power it down by yanking the cable again and then popping out the button battery on the mobo. if that doesn't work, i'll jiggle any wire and it'll start loading.

All my drivers are up to date and i've also flashed a new BIOS for the motherboard. I don't think it's overheating because this happens also when its only 58' F according to Coretemp. My bedroom is in the basement and its really cool down here.

Google searches revealed a two or three year old thread on some forum with people experiencing the same problem but there is no solution.
If anyone has experienced this before and has any clue as to why this happens please let me know.

just in case anyone needs to know,

    ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 AM3
    AMD 3.1ghz 4x
    1.5 Western Digital HDD
    4gigs of G skill memory DDR3 1333
    Diamond Radeon PCIE
    600w power supply

Have you overclocked the system at all? And having the most up to date drivers isnt always a good thing. There was a time when nvidia was putting out updates and all I was hearing was bad things, and that I should reinstall a specific older version. I've recently been messing around with my computer and a big issue I hsd was finding the best firmware to use.

are you sure its not 58 C? If so thats pushing the chips thermal threshold (60C).

        I concur,

58 F is cold..... like, not running cold.

I'm pretty sure it's in F degrees bc in the options, coretemp allows for you to change its display from celcius to F and that's what I checked. I've run checks on the memory before also and it always comes back as good.

I have only over clocked once but I only increased it to about 3.3ghz and the temperature never went higher than 105'F and that was after installing a coolermaster 212 hyper +

I'm thinking there is a wire that is loose in the case bc like I said, sometimes I'll reach in a jiggle a random wire or cable and then it'll start loading. The thing is I don't get how that cable or whatever could keep coming loose.

This processor has always ran on the cool side. With the stock cooler it only reached 74'f during the hot summer but with the 212 hyper plus, that's when the temps dropped down further bc of it's 4 heatpipes and huge heatsink design.

can you recommend any other temp sensing programs?

I usually lag an update or two behind for all my software for that very reason. Unless the older version is unstable or doesn't do something I need (that a newer version offers), I'd prefer to stay with a known stable build.

Another thing you might want to do is check Google for known problems with your game, and perhaps reinstall the game itself. Sometimes a faulty install, or something goofy with the game's programming can cause issues. That's the only true drawback to a PC... no developer can truly anticipate all of the possible combinations their users will be running, so some things may not work as expected.

I agree. That's pretty fucking cold for a computer to be running.
                It was prolly 58C

well i installed HWmonitor like Kudang suggested..

this gives it to me in C and F degrees. it's the same hovering between 58 and 59'

on a side note, i popped back in my old GFX card and so far so good after an hour and a half of intensive CSS with everything on high.

CSS is 7 years old. I wouldn't call it graphic intensive.

What card are you using? just says diamond radeon. Also did you make sure its seated correctly. Are you maxing out the settings in the game? Is the card Oc'd while your playing it. We need more info to help properly.

edit... I see its a 4670. Also show us a screen shot of CCC temp monitor running with the old card.

Try testing with another power supply and report back. BTW Who makes your current power supply? As power supplies get older, they don't output their max wattage anymore, or lose efficiency, and some cheap power supply's barely run at or below their rated power. Combine that with degradation, and your computer might not have enough power to run everything anymore. Or the power supply is just going bad.
