Yes, you read it right, I'm thinking about maybe selling my beloved car. I'm just not sure if this is something I even want to think about. I love the car, and I want another CB7, but I just don't know if I've gotten in over my head. Its just...it has rust. I have the panels to fix it, and its just not getting done. I got an estimate of 1900 to get it in and get the whole car at least some shade of blue. Its just I'm also thinking that my car is an LX, and a 90 which means auto belts, drum brakes, no sunroof etc. I also like the 92-93 models a lot better, and it just seems like they're much cleaner than the 90-91. Plus I just glanced at that 93 SE that sold for like 2500, with fogs, one pieces, red/clears, spoiler, etc, etc.
Maybe I'm just getting discouraged. But then I tell myself that I do have the complete panels to fix the rust. I have the 92-93 trunk AND the red/clears. The spoiler's a click away. I have the rarest color put on CB's and I have a bunch of the neat options (OEM floormats, fogs, etc). I think the thing is I just feel like if I sold the car and went 92-93 EX I'd be giving up on it. Plus unless I get a white one, I can't transfer any of the parts. I'd also lose my fogs and who know's if I could find another set, it took me 2 years to get the set I had with all the wiring intact.
I don't think I'd ever give up on the CB as a car, I've got too much just sitting around uninstalled. You guys would be shocked if you knew all the crap I'm hoarding...my mom's getting pissed about it too
Maybe I'm just getting spring fever...I had my spring break 2 weeks ago and I didn't get to work on the car once because its terrible out. Its been like 30 degrees since I can remember and I haven't had a chance to even clean my car.
I just think as much as I want another one its going to be impossible to find a rust free one around here, I have only seen one and it was an autotragic. I'm not going to waste my time with a auto-man swap unless I do the full motor. I can't do the motor til at least the summer, and that's assuming that i can do it, since I've never done a motor and I'd have friday night -Monday morning to do it. Gah, I can't even install my damn suspension because my mom won't let me. I mean I know how to do it, but its the spring compressor thing, and I just don't want to spend the 180 the shops around me are charging to do it.
I think its just I'm at school, I see people here doing something new ever day, and its like I've blown so much money on the car, and right now it looks to me like the same thing I bought back in 2001, just with ex rims. i'm just getting frustrated and way off topic. I just guess its like there's so much work I want to do, but I feel so limited, and I feel like if i got a better base car or something, I dunno.
Thanks for listening to my rant.
