if it WERE indeed a fireball, what would be the reasoning for covering it up?

The article says it does indeed happen, and it isn't uncommon for things to enter our atmosphere(debris etc)

I actually would bet money on it being Jet contrails...

it looks a lot more like contrails i have seen then pictures of shooting stars/meteors etc

And it is possible for contrails to reflect light at the right angle...

I have seen that myself....when contrails are normally white but I have seen plenty of times where they are a crazy orange or red....

so idk....I think people like to buy into hype.

coulda been something burning up, however I have seen contrail lit up like that from the setting sun. But the planes are usually really high and their contrails arent so wide and puffed up, and the effect doesnt last very long with the sun setting quickly. coulda been a chemtrail sprayer that caught on fire

Im no specialist either but Ive been looking skyward since I was in diapers. I also know I have an eye for details. Minute details. I, in my 25+/- years of looking towards the sky, have NEVER seen contrails reflect sun.

Im not saying it doesnt happen, but it must be one hell of a rare happening.

And what reason do they have to cover it up? What reason do they NOT have? Why cover up aliens? For protection, sure. To keep the masses at bay, sure. But provide enough secuirty clearance and no one's getting in, so it wouldnt matter if we knew about it or not. But as a species--as a space-exploring species--dont you think alien lifeforms existing, let alone visiting our planet, is something that shouldnt be kept secret from anyone?

If a cure for cancer, or hell even AIDS, came out, would the government hide it? Probably. But why? What purpose would that serve? Im not a big conspiracy theorist at all. I dont buy in to a lot of hype. I dont like it, I dont believe it, but whatever. Maybe Im just a good, old-fashioned American but when things dont make sense to me, I call bullshit. This is one of those cases. I'd almost believe it until they said one guy changed his statement. He probably, suddenly, became a much wealthier person for doing so, too.

I'm with ya on this. It makes sense to me that it is a contrail reflecting the sun.

A shooting star, for example, is debris down to the size of a piece of dust burning up in our atmosphere. Do you know how fast they move? If you've ever seen one, you would.

Now in this case, if it's a fireball, why would it be moving so slowly? Maybe it's far out there in space. If that were the case why would it be on fire when it's not in our atmosphere?
