If at first you don't succeed, Try again. Don't give up too easily, persistance pays off in the end.

I don't think so but that would be cool if there was one out for smartphones too, I know other forums have apps but idk how you go about making one for this forum?

As I said in the other half dozen threads on this subject:

I am not a programmer. I have NO idea how to program such an app. I could pay someone to do it for me, but since this site is free to use, I make little profit... and such a thing would be a very pricey endeavor for me to undertake when I won't be recovering my losses. I love you guys, but I'd prefer not to spend any more money than I already am!

If anyone IS a programmer, feel free to write an app and submit it for my approval. If I can install it without compromising the integrity of the current software, I will consider it. Otherwise, don't waste time asking... ESPECIALLY in public. This sort of thing would be better asked via PM, since there is only one person that would make that decision... ME. It's frustrating to open up a thread and see a bunch of people deciding what they want, when they don't even know that it's possible!

Also, the reason most other forums have lots of fancy stuff are that 1) they are owned by large corporations (most large forums are, these days.) and 2) they are highly commercialized, generating a lot of profit (and therefore, the more traffic, the better!)

This site is not for profit. What little profit I do make often goes right back into the site.
This site will also NEVER be owned by a large corporation. I get an offer every other month or so, and I turn them down every time.

I'm sure there are people on this site that could make said app. What if you took donations or something to make this happen? I'm sure there would be MORE than enough people to pitch in some coin to get this going?

If someone on this site wants to make the app, and they wish to be paid for it, I'd be willing to arrange for that payment to be collected. I can't front all the cash myself, but I'd contribute as a member of this community.
Still, I'd be very wary of paying someone to do an unknown job, only to find that the finished result wasn't usable. I'd prefer to have such a thing ready to install, and THEN pay for it... but if I didn't like it, then the creator would have wasted a good deal of time!

If anyone is interested it is just $200 up front, a $100/year renewal fee, a $100 iOS Developer account, and a $25 Android Developer account. All of the coding is already done, the generic vBulletin app just has to be linked to the forum and uploaded to the App Store and the Google Play store.

If people really want it, they should pay to see it brought up. $325 up front and $100/year after that is a ton for something that really offers nothing, as the site is already fully functional through any iPhone or Android phone's web browser.

Ya but everyone who say's that misses the point of apps.

I use the internet ALL day to use this site(my PC and my tablet and my phone)

With an app, however, everything is streamlined for the phone.

Your phones browser is not really...it is loading this site set for a PC(as this site doesn't have a mobile version)

So even though it is easy enough to browse thru a phones browser, an APP would be night and day better then that.

That is basically what I had in mind but I never went far enough to find that...damn that's pretty cool.

Worth $325 to you? Plus $100 a month? Hmm

I have yet to purchase an app

Well no, it wouldn't really be worth it because the initial investment wouldn't be too bad, but $100/month is A LOT to add to the current bill for Deev...so that isn't really feasible.

If anyone is going to make an app, it would be on their own time and would just communicate with the site and process it so it looks and feels and acts like a mobile version of this site.

What a world we live in though, where people are asking for apps for their television.

Does anyone else see the humility in that?

I don't even remember not having remotes(yes kids, Tv's started without remotes)

                              Shit is crazy.
