I wouldn't trust Firestone for anything BUT tire-related stuff.
Though my ruined rear tires do kinda suggest that they aren't great at that, even.

Wheel Works is still owned by Bridgestone, exactly the same as Firestone.

The same people that work at firestone work at every firestone? Forever? Or does Firestone just put stupid juice in the water cooler... or make a policy of hiring people with an IQ of pi...

the best was when the manager tried to tell me that the tire was made in 95...when in fact he read the wrong code and they were made in 02, lol

At the shop, we send new car owners to firestone for the lifetime. Anything with 50,000 miles plus, the local one likes to tell them they got a list of stuff to replace before they can align it. All the rest of the car and all out personal cars go to a local place. They can align a horse and buggy. They charge $30 for the front and $50 for a 4 wheel, and because of reputation, it's not uncommon to wait a few days for a appoiment, or wait 6+ hours for one if you just walk in

                I forgot to mention:
They didn't check for play in any of my wheels. They simply asked what was new. I started on my list, and I think they assumed everything. My inner tie rods are still original!

I have Firestone's lifetime alignment. Had it 3 or 4 years and have gotten it done 3 times now. They always fill out a worksheet checking off what other maintenance items might need attention. Last time I was there the tech said I should bring the car in every 6 months for alignment. Haven't had any issues. They won't touch my camber kit though, they just include a statement on the sheet that says "factory camber not adjustable".

No, they are simply run with similar business models. Unlike the distinction Bridgestone makes between Bridgestone branded tires and Firestone branded tires (Bridgestone > Firestone) the Wheel Works and Firestone Complete Auto Care centers are treated as on the same plane in terms of quality.

You could have a great Wheel Works location near a terrible Firestone location just as easily as you could have the opposite scenario. Back in Knoxville, the Firestone local to me wasn't the greatest but they got the work done. The ones I've found here in Nashville are all-around much better. It varies so much from location to location that you can never really know what to expect from one to another.
