Surgeon builds an engine
MRT
37.5 MPG, AC on, cruising at 80.
30.0 MPG, AC on, aggressively driving around 90.
27.5 MPG, no AC, cruising at 90 with occasional gridlock. 40 degrees Fahrenheit
Lots of DIY videos specifically for our car
Get some awesome wipers! <-- It's a DIY

Amateur...
pushrods make the packaging even smaller than it would have been, had it been an OHC engine

Surgeons can be and some are like that.Originally posted by reklipz View PostThat's pretty damn cool.
Was it just me, or did anyone else think he was rather forceful and clumsy (for lack of a better term) when building most of the valve and "crank" train? I'd be scared to have him as a surgeon...Last edited by H311RA151N; 01-28-2013, 07:11 AM.

The top comment causes some concern:
It looks like it's running on compressed air.MRT

One of the commenters that seems to have a brain said he's a watchmaker/jeweler, which makes more sense to me than a surgeon. Either way... dude had the time, money, patience, knowledge, and skill to pull this off! Awesome!
And anyone on there that's saying it sucks because it's not a real running engine can go suck an egg. As a fully functional model, this thing is amazing!

Definely a watchmaker. I only said surgeon because of the precision required to do this, like a surgeon.
Does anyone know what that tank looking thing is he put underneath where the plastic line goes in?MRT

I found the builder's youtube channel. Apparently building miniature engines is his hobby.
Also, his explanation of how it works.
v-12 engine with compressed air injection, hand made using taditional methods:12 cm3 of displacement, the diameter of the cyllinder is 11,3 mm,the stroke of the pistons 10mm,it works with only 0,1kg/cm2.Is constructed with stainless steel, aluminum and bronze.Patelo dedicate this engine to his grandchildren:Sara,Carmen,Jose and Pablo. This engine is for education, exhibitons, etc.,that is the reason to work with compressed air, to avoid contamination. He has made the plans and all parts, except the screws. The engine is not for sale. Thanks to everybody for the comments and sorry for my bad English.Last edited by Accrdwgnguy; 01-28-2013, 11:41 AM.
