    cb7 tuner activity?

Several years ago I was a major lurker in this forum. Gained tons of knowledge about the cb7. I still own the car, a 92 ex. Its been neglected over the last couple years, but im working on it again to use as my daily driver for work. Still got the tubular a4 header in the garage I found at pick n pull after learning about from here. Prob install it next weekend just for shits. The car is pretty clean still, runs great. Just wondering if this forum has been downsized. Seems there used to be so much more info to read up on. Do you all still have your cb7? Im 41 now and still have mine after all these years, will prob never get rid of it. Its nothing extreme, just stock engine with 295k miles, replaced head about 50k ago. Ive had the a4 header and h23 intake sitting in the garage for years but never got around to it. Im a diesel mechanic, so yeah sometimes it takes a lot of motivation to work on vehicles afterwork hah.

Interesting, i was thinking this same thing today.

Don't know if you remember me, but i also recently came back and noticed the lack of people on here, and Ive only seen like 4 people from a long time ago like deev and f20.

2006,7 seemed pretty full but i left i have no idea, maybe people bought nicer cars? it happens. cb7's tend to be first cars, teenager cars..etc.. but i guess they grow up and move on to nicer cars. Or the fact that the chassis is 20 years old, and was never super popular? Maybe cb7tuner will be dead in 5 years... the world turns time passes and people move on. (some not all)

UNLESS for some reason 20 years from now cb7's are considered classics, which would be awesome.
Wife: "Why do you get G power platinum and i only get V power?"
Me:"Cause i have the high compression 93 octane only H22 and you have the bullet proof F22."
    Wife:........................"But yours are prettier"

    ---------------------------------------------------
Wife:Baby, not everybody wants to do the 93 conversion"
Me:YES THEY DO, THEY JUST DON'T KNOW IT YET.

Alot of members HAVE disappeared over the years, It's only natural honestly.
There is still a huge Member base here, just newer members that you may not have seen.

Just to prove how fast this Forum moves, if you hit the "New Posts" button at the top 12hours after you log off, there can easily be 3 pages worth of updated threads.

As for the Site seeming "Smaller" - Most common Technical info can be found in the relevant stickies at the top of each section "Common ** Info can be found here"

I'm still active here, I lurked for a long time before joining. My CB7 though is long gone and I wish I never sold it. It wasn't by choice.

Any and all sites go through this. It's common for a site to be busy as heck one moment and dead the next. The core members and enthusiasts will always be there but those who joined because it was the cool thing to do leave. I myself joined two years ago and have been lurking ever since. I choose the CB7 as it was a fun car to tune and coming from a Civic background, it gave me a new challenge. Plus with the cops out where I live, it's best to fly under the radar. I never had big plans for my CB7 but it was more of a way to get back to the essence of tuning. Clean body with a few tasteful upgrades and the rest poured into the suspension and handling of the car. Either way I have enjoyed my time here and learning from what I have read. Plus being older I have seen and done most of what there is to do and I do have other cars to drive when I feel like it. But being fortunate to having a fiance who lets me always have a "project car", it's nice to have something to work on and give us a bit of time apart. Nicer or more luxurious cars are nice, but a well put together tuner car just has something unique where it was built, and not just bought. For me, that is why the CB7 is a great car, good looks and infinite ways to make it better. Just my two cents.

Don't forget the server did crash a while back and we did lose some info. I'm still here, I lurk more now, the cb7 is heartless and while be for a will since I'm 3k miles away from it. But still in the game.

A lot of the "holy crap this is new!" has worn off, since we've covered damn near everything possible with these cars on this site. In addition to that, the average member today has less money than the average member a few years ago. The cars are cheaper, and in worse condition. They're becoming restoration projects before they become modification projects. Only serious enthusiasts want to put in that much effort and money... the rest just roll around in rusty deathtraps with H22 swaps and turbos.

Overall, this site is still quite active, and I'm seeing many more serious, knowledgeable, dedicated enthusiasts in the past year than I have in previous years... but it's still slow. It's inevitable. Eventually, the chassis will be too old and "useless" for the cheapskates, and only the real enthusiasts will be left. Those of us that really care about the platform are patiently waiting it out.

Yeah the cars are getting older. Mine has bugs here and there I want to eventually work out of it. But I still like it, see no reason to get rid of it. Who knows in twenty more years it may be worth alot more. My other vehicle is a 95 toyota pickup. I just repair as needed and keep driving them. I dont like car payments. Reason im cleaning up the accord again is so that I can drive it while I repair the blown head gasket in the pickup. Probably just pull the engine and rebuild it. Its a good little truck.

I'm still a noob. But I procrastinate enough that I'll be around, lurking for awhile.
