    Getting a new job

Yep. I'm off. Right now. To go get hired. This is my second interview, but I'm in. I know it.

It's just Outback Steakhouse... nothing career-oriented... but a hell of a lot better than Bennigan's where I am now! It'll be a better schedule for going back to school as well.

I'll be back as an Outback employee in just a few!

you should get a job as a framer, because with those degrees of yours, thats all youre gonna be able to do with them.
    or something.
your degree(s)(i forgot) are still better than mine.

Actually, I think Mike's gf works in a framing shop?

They're just made for each other, huh?

Yup! She framed both of our Psychology degrees! She, too, got hired at Outback!

So I'm back. I got the job. I'm one of the top 3 scoring candidates, so that's cool. They'll be expecting a lot from me! I've got the menu in front of me, so I can study for the final test... I need a 90 or I'm un-hired! I don't think that'll be a problem though. Restaurant protocol, menu knowledge, etc... All old hat to me.

Now, I'll be able to make the same money as I do at Cheapigan's, while working MUCH less. They close at 11 at the latest, and the earliest they open is 2 (only on Sundays). I'm used to opening at 10:30, and closing at 12-1! I'll also have less tables at one time... sounds like a bad deal, but I can give MUCH better service to 3 tables at once than I can 6. Better service means higher checks... and higher tips!

I'm also looking into going back to school next fall. I think I might get my teaching certification before I try grad school. Teachers do fairly well, and it'll give me more of an opportunity to work on my grad degrees. I don't think I'll be able to afford a master's degree on Outback pay, even if it IS better than I'm doing now!

Awesome! I considered car sales... my stepfather owns a Chrysler dealership, and he had an opening a few months ago. They can work some LONG hours though... and when business is slow, it's rough! Still, you're working with cars, so that's gotta be fun! And if the dealership is cool, you'll have access to knowledgable mechanics and all their wonderful wonderful tools... drool...

Are they going to make you wear 31 pieces of flair?

I certainly hope not! I can't bear any more than 30!

I've seen the uniform. The only flair they make you wear consists of a collection of pins that show your accomplishments... so the more flair I have, the better I'm doing

Also, management opportunities aren't too shabby... they seem to make some good money, with a good chance for advancement. I may find that moving up in the company would be beneficial as well! School is a definite, but I'll need some cash to get me through it!
