I had my car painted. It looks nice. It died at the paint shop.
I tried for a week to fix it in the shop (not the ideal mechanical repair environment... can't hear the fuel pump prime, can't smell for fuel for the paint fumes, etc...) No luck.
AAA won't tow FROM a "repair shop", even if it's the wrong type... so I had to pay for a tow. I towed it to my stepdad's Chrysler dealership (which, I'm learning now, was a bad choice...) I'm going over there once a day messing with the distributor, which, after replacing the main relay, I've determined is the cause.
I've been bastardizing every dizzy I own, trying to find a working combination of parts (I think I'm buying a multimeter today to make things easier).
The REALLY frustrating thing is that, in addition to the insane heat, I've been scheduled to work for 9 days straight. It doesn't leave much room for fixing the car, especially when it's a half hour away! My girl and I are also desperately trying to get some wedding stuff handled in our limited time as well, and it's difficult with just one car.
I'm stuck with 3 distributors in various conditions, a Code 15 from my ECU, and about an hour a day in which I can work on the car.
I would just hand it over to the Chrysler mechanics, but in the past they've killed my power steering pump, and put gear oil in my tranny... And even being family, I still have to pay! Thanks, but no thanks... I'll turn my own wrench. Just wish I could find more time to do it!
