yeah, you could get them running 12's without too much work. i am pretty sure fizzbob had a 12 sec. daily driven one at some point as well. and one in a pinto would have been awesome, you should still try to do it.

that just made me remember this pinto i saw spring of last year, it was nasty shit green with huge tires in the back and it had a fart can on it! i shit you not! and the angle they had to run the exhaust..looked like a fucking cranes neck funny shit!

start the Stage one lightweight, change all fluids, throw in an intake and exhaust. i read that a full exhaust including header will boost 75 hp?
that sounds kinda wack but then again it is v6 and forced inducted.

American engines are notorious for having poor airflow capabilities, so replacing the stock breathing aparati (is that a word? ) will probably get you more gains than the same mods on an import... especially since it's supercharged.

The SuperCoupe is actually a kickass car. It's one of the few older non-Mustang Fords I would give a second look to on the street.

Let it breathe better, give the engine a tune up, shed whatever unnecessary weight there may be, and that should get into the 14s easily enough. Then the pulley can be upgraded to bump the boost, and 13s may be possible. Then shoot some giggle gas down it's throat and humiliate some imports

A kid I went to HS with had a Super Coupe. It was a decently quick car. Then he replaced the pulley with a smaller one, made a ton of boost and his headgasket went blooey.

I have no doubt you can make an interesting amount of power with that car...so go for it. Weight's your initial target with taht car...it just has so many options on it that are just adding unnecessary heft.
