I'm running HID's on stock housing myself. It has glare but I adjusted them properly and never gave me problems. Cops pass me almost every night and never bothered me.

Prices are a lot different now, so yeah it could probably be done for 500 with bmw projectors. I spent about 1k from start to finish on my old retrofit (tsx), but thats because I was changing parts and constantly breaking expensive things, like bulbs.

well all together I have only spent 240 bucks on my retro I traded for the projectors (tsx by the way) I already had one pieces, I bought the bulbs and ballast for 160, the mdx shrouds for 30, and my eyelids for 50 so so far so good. Oh i did spend 28 on my sidemarkers but that doesn't count but they are going in when the retro goes under way

What kind of bulbs and ballast for 160? You got a pretty good deal going there.

I wish when I did my retro I had the guts to chop up a JDM headlight. I had a set of JDM 1 pieces, brand new oem headlights, and then the set on my car. I ended up chopping up the brand new ones for a retro.

I emailed a guy on ebay about some gen 3 ballasts and d2s bulbs with wiring. They came off of an audi so its all OEM for me

I doubt it was 2000. I havent seen projectors go that ahigh if you buy off the net. You can find a decent set of projectors on ebay for cheap.

might help just a lil bit, but there would still be glare.
