DA owners i need your opinion on this

i want to run dc2 shocks on my DA but the front forks are dif. the inner diameter of the DA fork is a tad bit smaller. i was wondering if i applied heat to the fork to stretch it will it be weakened?

hear is a similar thread showing the two forks http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1394518
