I think that is excessive. I'm going to do it when it reads 10,000 miles, so essentially 5,500 miles later. I drive the car kinda hard and it did have some sludge in it so i want to change it sooner than later to clean it out.

On my CR-V I go by the Oil life indicator, but it's definitely like 10k-12k.
My wife doesn't drive it hard, so it's on the longer side. I change the CG every 6k.

When you reset it the oil life reads 15,500
It goes down every time you drive the car ( right now its at like 13,500 or so )
When it gets to 10,000 i'm going to change it again to be on the safe side.

Did all the red clips break? Mine dissentegrated when i took that trim off. Well today i think i figured out my SMG light issue
So basically the SMG pump is shutting off because its getting hot and going into limp mode
The reason its getting hot is because the fan clutch is 100% dead. I can stop it with my hands.
I'm going to replace it and see if the problem goes away.
