I'm sure you've read, but on the rear shifter stay, the bolt holes are not parallel to each other and are VERY easy to cross-thread. Take care when you put them in.

These cars are supposed to be rally cars , but you do a google search and find things like this or the whole gear set crapping out. Very temperamental cars , seems like maintenance is key.
Are you just swapping another ej205 in or going with something else?

so I found out what exactly when wrong. it wasnt the trust bearings or a crank walk it seems. although I was close to that, no it had the wrong sized bearings in it. they were too big. so the heated up and melted into the crank and connecting rod...

anyhow, I finally found me a set of STI heads for cheap. even has a 3 angle valve job with new valves, JDM STI cams to delete the AVCS, and valve covers. all for less than just regular OEM heads, (which sell for around $900).
just gotta port and polish them, then hot tank it before putting them on.
