Auto Electric Repair at 1334 N. Melrose Dr. in Vista. He's a good guy, but a little slow for me. He says he knows the owner of JDM Concepts who has a spare ECU, but I don't know when he'll ever get his hands on it. That guy is even slower (another nice guy though) than the guy at Auto Electric.

That Auto Electric guy knows his shit. Yes Gabe at JdmConcepts is also good at wiring and although they take their time on stuff, they'd rather get it done right then have a car come back.. As i said i got a spare ecu, just need to meet up with my friend to get it back..

Gabe is just a flake. He was supposed to lend Auto Electric a CPU to test. JDM lost me when I went on two separate occasions to get my car dynoed, and it took 2 hours each time. Shouldn't take more than a half hour.

Anyway, Eric (Auto Electric) says he can't get my ECU to enter (or leave; can't remember which) closed loop, so the car is always running in it's warm up mode. I did a wire tuck, but he said that's all good. Coincidence I guess that it became a problem when I did the tuck. The reason I took it in was because I can only get 5 degrees BTDC with the distributor turned all the way advanced. Timing belt is installed correctly, wiring is good, and distributor is good. Seems that the last piece of the puzzle is the ECU.

First you state Gabe is a nice guy, and then you state he is a flake? Make up your mind bro. To me that’s kind of a low blow................ Gabe is a good friend of mine, and as a good friend I’m defending his name because he is not a member of this forum and cant defend himself. Also any true friend would defend a friends name when someone’s talking bad about him.

Lastly, if you know anything about tuning, you should know you don’t run your car on the dyno run after run to get the best tune in 20-30 minutes. He has reputable tuners working for him who would rather give you a safe tune then blow your shit up. But I guess you don't understand that aspect of Tuning..

Anybody have an extra P13 laying around? I took my car to an auto electrician and and he thinks my ECU is bad. My problem is that I can only get 5 degrees BTDC. I've checked that the distributor is good, timing belt is installed correctly, and all wiring from engine harness to ECU is good. Problem surfaced after my wire tuck, which is why I took it to the electrician. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm in Oceanside.

I remember asking u to bring it to my house, u never did. I was willing to help. but after seeing u post about gabe, naw man. gabe is a kool dude, he may be lazy, but what mechanic/tuner isn't?? I am. but if u know what u are doing and talking about (performance wise), gabe knows his shit. and a dyno tuning that will last 20-30 min? I guess u ain't getiing ur money's worth then. word of advice, if u are willing to spend money on ur car, then talk to reputable people. once we see that u are not willing to spend money, we won't help. 30 minute dyno? lol the average dyno is 1.5-2.5 hours.

Cool.. Everyone has their opinion of people.

Even if you baseline your car, you figure he's gotta clear the car off and under his dyno lift, strap your car down, , let your car cool off in between runs, unstrap your car etc etc. That takes time, I guess you you overlook that stuff huh?

On the head he doesn't have the machine to resurface your head, thus he does what most shops do, which is outsource it to a machine shop. What performance shop doesn't do that? If you were smart why didn't you just take your head to the machine shop and get it resurfaced and avoid the middle man. Don't blame someone else for your stupidity.

Lastly, I call bs on you not calling anyone to help with your car.. I actually conversed with you via pm and got you in contact with one of my friends to ask about your wiring when you were doing your swap. He opted not to come over and help you because he could tell that you're Cheap.

a noob to honda's?? dude, I've been working for honda about 8 years now, wrenching. one of the top techs too. (just lazy), and I'm sorry if u got butt hurt. please keep ur opinions to yourself. if u don't even know how to fix ur own car, and ask for help from others, and say that a person like gabe (who's been in the scene since the honda's were fast if you hit 13's) sucks, then those who knows gabe will for sure defend him. I'm not trying to be a jerk, I apologize if I was, but I had someone from oceanside, with the same car, same motor, same problem, and it was taken to an electrical shop, and it sounded just like u. LOL.
but if u wanna say that we are noobs, and can't get helpful help, then I'm sorry. me personnaly, I cannot help people over the phone or internet if you are not familiar with cars. especially when u do a swap, and it turns into a nightmare like your car. ur cars looks sick, especially your crx, and I respect that. if you're willing to tow your car to my house, and pay me to do your car, I will. I have built cars before, but more from the civic and integra's era about 5-6 years ago b sereies. I've put heads together before, and I've done short blocks too.. people bring their cars to me when they build their motors themselves, and it runs like crap. I do my thing to it, and everyone has left happy so far. so I'm pretty reputable here in the banning and beaumont community. as said before, if you're willing to pay me and tow it to my house, I'm still willing to help. but if you don't want any part of cb7tuner anymore, so cal status, you can always go to the technical section and post up in there. because obviously there isn't anyone in so cal that can fix your car............................................... ....
