ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Burned my headlight

I was opening my 1 piece headlights up with a head gun and got stupid and melted the bottom of the corner piece a bit.

Lets hope that wet sanding will help it.

I don't think you'll get that completely out.
I used the oven to open mine, as most of the DIY's on the site recommend.

            Heat gun = bad idea

Need to use the oven for uniform heating.

Seriously, like 5 mins in my oven and my headlights literally fall apart when I take them out.

I've burnt my corner lights in the oven before back when I was a newbie at it all. It was the fetal mistake of trying to rush things and I left them in too long. Well I took them out and they still wouldn't come apart, so back in they went. Waited, still no go, put back in. Then fried :S

I always thought a heat gun would be way better than the oven as you could direct the heat directly on the glue area. I guess they are equally dangerous.

When I put my 1pc headlights in the oven, I began to melt the lower mounting brackets where the bolts go through on the bottom. Caused no damage to the lenses though.

I put cookie sheets under them and only did one at a time- checking the sealant seal frequently.
The cookie sheet won't get as hot as the racks in the oven, so it won't melt the housing. (as long as you don't walk away from it)

Good idea! I put mine on a metal baking tray, and only did one at a time since my oven isn't big enough for two.

It's easy with a heat gun I just got careless on that one corner. I might do my OEM lights as well and I'll use the oven on those.
