ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    16x8.5 & 16x9.5 Tire help?

    Hi all,

I just picked up a set of 16x7 Hayashi Techno R's off of local CL. Lips are kinda curbed and the color is horrid IMO. Anyways, I'm waiting on some lips to arrive from the east coast. I picked up 3 and 4 inch lips so that leaves me with a grand total of 8.5" up front and 9.5" in the back when I add the 5.5" barrel

I'd like to keep a meaty tire but I don't want to rub. Im going to be pretty low as well. Like pushing snow low lol. Ive never been very knowledgable with tire sizes and was wondering if yall could help a brotha out.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for the help

    Gabe

My suggestion is to just find pics of the rim width that you have width different tire sizes to find which one you like best. We really can't tell you what you like...well we could cause we're cool like that..

There is a sticky about posting your wheel pics in the regular section, fyi.

Yeah i understand its more of a preference thing but I kinda just wanted a starting point. Just to give a better idea of what im looking for, I'd like to stretch the tires a bit just because I like the look of it. nothing crazy though.

215? Would that be too meaty? Im going to google around and see what some tire sizes look like but like I said, I have very little experience with tires. I'm new to this forum so I'm still learning all of the rules.. the hard way lol I wasnt sure if I could post in other sections yet

Update: I think Im going with 195/45 up front as mentioned earlier and 205/45 out back. I tried that website but its really roughly set up. I guess Im going to just have to trial and error it for now. Its all a learning experience right?

Eeesh, the tires sizes people are using these days are terrifying...195 on a 8.5 wheel?

I considering going down to a 235 on an 8.5 on the toy and that scares me that I'm too narrow.

I will never understand stretching tires. It just seems terribly impractical.

I'm still not sure. I might just go 205 all the way around. Like I said, I'm not good with tire sizes

Anything less than 245 on that wide of a tire is impractical and unsafe.

if you really and i mean really want a stupidly low profile tire on a rim, just do it the idiot way

cut the sidewall completely out of the tire then glue the tread itself to the rim

you will have the lowest profile tire of anybody BUT you will not be able to drive at all.

this would be for pure show and i mean pure show only
