ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

My Attempt at rust removal thread

I got sick of the rear quarter panel rust that has attacked my car...So today im attempting to do the diy rust removal....I am followeing accordtunerx's diy thread http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...t=rust+removal
with a few modifications cuz well my rust is just worse then his was....I realize that it would be smarter and easier to just pay someone to remove it properly and completly like so many other ppl have done...but I do not have 2500 dollars to spend on that and until I do this will be my bandaid on it....This is my first major attempt at any body work in my life so I am expecting to fail miserably...but at least i tried right haha...So if yer readin this and yer seein something that im doin wrong tell me and ill listen lol....or if you have some advice to give im all ears

Ne wayz...Heres wat my car looked like:

    Drivers Side

    Passengers Side
NOTE: notice the grey primer...In october i got my friends dad to help me remove the rust...all he did was sand it down and spray primer...Just on the surface rust

This is wat it looks like without the bumper on it

    Drivers Side

    Passengers Side
The rust is alot worse then i thought...Its up in behind the fender liner thing on both sides and its all along the bottom of the drivers side doors.

As of right now I have sanded down all the surface rust on the visible portion of the body and im on way to derust the major parts of it....Wish me luck.

Im not exactly sure...Im just basically doin this until i save up enough to take it to a body shop and get all the rust spots rewelded in with new metal...I just cant afford it right now and i hated the fact that my bumper and rear quarters were fucked up...I couldnt stand lookin at it.

This looks alot like whats going on with my rear quater panels. Its gonna take a lot of work to fix the problems with mine, yours may look bad but it doesnt hold a candle to my rear-left quaterpanel.

Very Scary lol....Its like it wants to hide....On the passengers side the rust was soo bad that most of the bumper support came off along with the bumper...and now that im Grindin away at the rust i just keep findin more and more....I cant wait till i save up enough to get rid of it the right way like you did.
