ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    New to CB7

    Greetings,

Bought myself a 91 cb7 LX 5MT with f22a1 last Christmas. I'm not totally new to Honda, had a 10th gen civic and a 9th gen si (which I somewhat modded, but kept it OEM+ till I sold it). I've always been a fan of cb7 and until now didn't have the chance to own one. Not in perfect shape, but it has good bones, I think. I plan on restoring it back to OEM condition with few exceptions of course. I've already bought couple of service manuals to get started. Things like the previous owner(s) has cut the floor pan to replace fuel pump (which I didn't like), and put some sealant around it and made a mess. I will be adding an access panel of some sort and cleaning that area up. The interior carpets are not in good shape, so will be swapping for new one from ebay soon as well. Ultimately, I want an H22A as its power plant, so I will be collecting parts one at a time. Here's couple of pictures of the cb. Thanks

    Pics no work
You should think about going K series as H is discontinued for most parts.

How about now, can you see pictures?

I was thinking about K since, much cheaper than H at the moment. I'm hesitant on the K because, doesn't it require fabricating mounts?

Yep, pics work now. H is easier I guess, just old....

        For the K:
        - Mounts kits = expensive
        - The engine is too tall (so lowering your car = oil pan sticking out)
        - But has lots of parts available / mods / can take a turbo / etc.
        - Has 6 speeds

        For the H:
        - Ha... want a new anything - nope. You're cams wore out, need a oil pan girdle, that special bolt for the tensioner. Nope. And the parts you do find are also 25 years old.
        - You could find an engine in good shape and it will last you a long time too but.... hard to find. Same goes for the transmission.
        - Easy conversion / install.
        - Still need mounts
        - 5 speed only

Good points you made about H, I guess I can wait it out to see few more K swaps on cb7. From what I see not a whole lot of people have done it, right?

It is a dream to have a K swap in the cb, I'll admit that. Here's my 9th gen si k24z7, which I sold years back.
It wasn't jaw dropping power with the blower, but sure made it fun to drive.

Maybe 5 people on this site have done it that I've seen. Documented somewhere here too.

I was expecting little bit more than that. Like you said H seems to be easier, engine mounts does not need cutting, and well documented. Hard part is find a P13 for decent price.

I thought hasport now makes mounts that raise the k up a bit so the oil pan isn’t as low? Also if I already didn’t invest a lot of money in my h22 I have sitting waiting for a chassis to throw it in, I would go K as well. The aftermarket support is unreal and you can go 6 speed and AWD a lot easier and cheaper than AWD h22. But your cb is beautiful and so was your 9th gen civic as well. Would love to have a blower as well. But I highly doubt I’ll ever find a Jackson racing one for a fair price.

I was literally just daydreaming about the K Swap for my wagon. Especially that S1 has their AWD conversion kit up for the CB7s. Though I imagine I'd probably have to get a custom driveshaft done..

                    Here's a decent post

Ya, the cb9 wagons desperately need a H / K swap for the weight of them! There was a guy on YouTube I was watching who did an AWD swap. The car had to be hacked pretty bad in the back of course, gas tank relocation, etc. But he ran the exhaust under the passenger side floor as the driveshaft took up the existing space..
